Excellent surgeon! Words can never express how thankful my whole family is for the outstanding care Dr Shanmugan and his ENTIRE team at Penn Presbyterian gave my father during his two week hospitalization for colon cancer surgery. I’m not quite sure how some other reviewers can give him such a poor rating (?), although I understand that circumstances may vary from patient to patient. If I could give zero stars I would!!! Skandan Shanmugan is a terrible surgeon, he has no regard towards a patient. I have told him that I can not walk without my walker and he proceeded force me to walk with a nurse which has cause me to fall and result an injury, just only a half a day after surgery. I was there for a full business week, I came in on a Monday, had my surgery done on a Wednesday, and I got sent home without pain medicine on Saturday. Left a lot to be desired with his patient care, Impersonal, arrogant and made my husband and I feel like the last thing he wanted to do was be there. Came in the room claiming to ‘know all about the case’ the fellow working with him filled him up. Had many details wrong and omitted others. He may be a great doctor but he lacks the human touch.
Outstanding surgeon and wonderful clinical instincts...very straight forward and direct...some may say too direct but I highly recommend
Excellent surgeon. Although depressing I needed a colectomy he has given me my life back. Thank you!
