Dr. Kumar is an excellent cardiologist. He spends time with patients, explaining diagnoses and treatments. Nurse Practitioner Shiny Thomas did my vein procedure, and I feel great. I've always had great experiences with the Goldfield Cardiovascular team. I also see Shiny Thomas for primary care, and she's amazing.
I started seeing Dr. Kumar when I moved here in 2007, almost 16 years ago. Started at his old practice and followed him when he started his own practice. I had already survived a heart attack and open heart surgery (CABG) in 2004 and had numerous complications before seeing him. He has been the best doctor I have ever had. I have had 21 heart caths and numerous stents, over half done by him. He has installed two ICDs also. I have never had a complication. Always looking out for me and willing to help me with a very friendly staff. Looking forward to my operation and getting better.
Dr. Kumar is very patient and kind. Seems to have a very high turnover rate with his staff, but he is a great doctor. We have been seeing him for years.
Never saw him but had to endure a bunch of needless test to tell me what I already knew!! Which I told his assistant when I first saw her!! My primary dr said I needed to see him before I could have surgery & I think they’re in a scam referral deal to make a buck!! I WON’T be going back for anymore useless appointments!! I’m just hoping most of this will be covered by my insurance, though they shouldn’t have to pay for this either!!
The problem with Dr. Kumar is he has to much on his plate. Visits are ALWAYS under 5 minutes, regardless of how serious the issue is. I have also experienced more incompetence from his MA's than I have at any other practice. The last time I went in there for my check up, the MA had NO idea who I was, or why I was there; even though this particular MA has seen me 20+ times, and I'm one of their youngest patients, most know me by name. Arrogant and abrupt with his patients. Does not supply written summary of visits. Does not take criticism well at all. Seems spread too thin in his practice. Can't say I ever received anything of worth from him.
