Dr. Mejias has been my go-to surgeon since 1999! I am a high-risk colon patient and he has performed several colonoscopies as well a breast biopsy and abcess surgery. We are like old friends now! His staff is just the best and on top of everything. You never have to follow-up because they are in charge of communicating to YOU! I am so thankful that I was one of his first Athens patients in September of 1999.
I adore this man. He saved my life and feels like he is not only my doctor but someone who really cares about my future. He was extremely conservative in my treatment and was in no rush to open me up. He took every possible avenue before ultimately deciding on surgery. I feel incredibly safe in his hands. 2 surgeries down and one more to go and am SO LUCKY to have this man on my side.
I am new to the area and literally chose Dr Mejias blindly. I made a good choice. I was able to secure an appointment quickly, and found Dr Mejias to be very personable, low-key, easy to talk to, and was willing to spend as much time with me as I felt I needed. His examination was thorough, surgery was recommended but not pushed; and within two weeks, it was done. Surgery was performed at St Marys Hospital in Athens and it was a great experience with the hospital and their staff.
