I’ve been so happy with the DMG pediatric team - not Dr. Murphy. I will avoid at all costs.
Every time my son is sick, or even just needs a check up, Dr Scott Murphy has the best approach. He’s kind, caring, and very patient. He keeps the parents calm, but manages to keep the scared kids calmer and gets them to forget why they came to see him. He has a sweet bedside manner that no one can match. He always is quick to diagnose and treat. He’s open to listen to all concerns from the parent and he talks through all of them with you. He never makes you feel rushed and he always has a smile on his face. He’s the kindest... read more
Dr. Murphy is great with both my 5 yo boy and 13yo girl. Handled bery well discussing shots in their presence without giving away to them what was being discussed. Was with my son, talked transformers, and was very approachable for my daughter regarding good diet, exercise and posture. He answered all of our questions. This is a good doc! :-)
My daughter had the flu and he didnt do a swab, didn't recommend or discuss tamiflu. basically it was a waste of 100$. What a joke of a doctor.
My wife and I feel exceptionally lucky to have stumbled upon Dr. Murphy, mostly because Dupage medical group accepts our insurance. We decided to try several pediatricians until we were both comfortable. Dr. Murphy is exceptionally intelligent, down to earth, and very old fashioned in his common sense approach to medicine. He always answers all of our questions and concerns with brilliant simplicity. Could not be happier with him taking care of our son.
Avoid this doctor. He is very dismissive and impatient. He diagnosed my son with 3 things in one visit. None of the diagnoses fit the symptom. Thankfully I got a second opinion, which supported my suspicions of eczema. I am not uneducated and if he had taken the time to listen he might have come to the right conclusion. The thing that bothered me most was the way he roughly shoved the tongue depressor into my sons mouth. My son couldn't stop talking about it for weeks.
I have 9 children and have been going to Dr. Murphy for many years. He is extremely caring, professional, knowledgeable, and my kids say, amazing
Dr. Scott Murphy is the best pediatrician we have met. He is so gentle, calm, and friendly with our toddler. He explains everything thoroughly and is always conscious about cleanliness. He takes his time to let our child warm up to him, and we never feel rushed through our appointment.
