Dr McCarthy operates under the assumption that all his patients are fools. His mannerisms, maturity, and personality are odd and distracting. Why do people like this become doctors?
As a former patient of Dr. McCarthy, I must conclude that his skill set & practice is not what most folks truly expect — or deserve. His transparent attitude subsides relatively quickly and is fast-tracked by a miserly contemptuous mood that seems distracted by profits and office politics than the general well-being of patients. Beware of the phony empathy of this man. After just a few visits, I found his overall character to be deeply troubled and artificial. Physician, please heal thyself.
Dr. Ryan has the best bedside manner I've ever seen in a doctor. He is also very honest and upfront with his patients. When he walks into the room my mom just lightens up. I am not one of his patients but I have sat in on many appointments with him and my mother.
I really wonder if he is a dr. The whole time you are in the room with him he is typing on his computer. Asks questions but just types away. This is rude and very suspect. You never sit on the table to be examined in any way. He keeps on on the chair next to the computer. I agree with the other people rate him on care of the patient. He made my husband "earn" an xray when his elbow was in terrible pain. Once my husband "earned" his crazy we found out he had a chipped elbow.
Dr. McCarthy has no sympathy for the patient. My father has ALS which lead him to receive a tracheostomy (my father's personal decision); Dr. M has been useless since this point. He is very short with explanation, he doesn't care to be kind at taking care for patients, he takes weeks to respond to patient needs, and his own staff agrees when a patient's family complains. He does not care for happiness of a person, not even their general comfort. He is Disgusting.
He is not a good patient advocate. He Bills to suit his own ego and not the needs of the patient or insurance coverage. Not that his coding is wrong, but with several options, he could legitimately bill to better serve the financial needs of the patient, especially since it doesn't impact his billing and collections, but that of lab work and other tests.
If I could give a zero, I would.
He was very quick about getting me admitted on a weekend for a small bowell obstruction. The care was grade a+ while inpatient and during discharge process. He also takes care of my teenage daughter and really spends time with her using a wholistic approach.
