I advised my PCP my massage therapist said calf was torn. The NP told me it was a varicose vein & that "if it was a torn muscle, you wouldn't be walking". I stated that I had read somewhere that exercise helps varicose veins heal & the NP stated that it makes them worse. The NP ordered an ultrasound. I asked if I could exercise & the NP said YES.
