Chronic pain must be challenging for doctors; this one is professional, as helpful as possible, goes out of his way to explain what is causing the patients' pain, and apparently has limited options for treatment, which he willingly dispenses. Calls always answered by a person; problems always corrected the same day; Dr. Segura has always been available on request. Caring & professional. Far superior to the dozen other pain mismanagement physicians I have seen.Only 1 other was good.
Prescribed me the highest dose of hydromorphone possible which was causing me to fall asleep at work all the time. Was also falling asleep driving home from work and was involved in 2 accidents. Switched to Dr. Knight in Metairie and on the first visit he switched me to Oxycodone and the next day I was back to normal.
He did multiple test and procedures. My pain is now worse than before he started.
I've never experienced a doctor who speaks openly about the nurses' physical features in the hospital where he works, or anywhere for that matter. I'm disgusted that my well-being was not his main focus, and I'm sure his wife would feel the same way. Ron Segura is a disgrace to his profession!
After repeated attempts to guess at the source of my pain while wasting my time and money, his answer continued to be to try to turn me into a drug addict, which I refused from the start.
Dr Segura, his nurses and his office staff are all very compassionate and actually listen to your concerns. Been a patient for almost 5 years and have had to deal with chronic pain for years but with their help I am able to live a much better life and almost live like a normal healthy person. Would highly recommend Dr Segura
I was referred by Dr. Darr to see Dr. Segura. I have seen Dr. Segura ONCE my initial visit, he assured to help with my pain. Since then I have only been able to communicate w nurses & only by leaving many messages and waiting for someone to call me back. I have serious episodes of pain from time to time & this occasion is much worse than normal. I called when I saw that I was running low on meds to warn the nurses of my concern of running out.
