My experience was Dr Benner’s lack of ability to communicate with me as a patient (a woman specifically) and trust what I was sharing with him. Infections can happen post a TKR and I unfortunately was one of the unlucky ones. This I cannot blame Dr Benner for. What I can share is his unwillingness to trust what I was communicating with him. This led to delayed surgery to correct the infection, sepsis, and 3 additional surgeries (I switched surgeons after the third surgery). Rodney Benner is good. He is also good father to his kids. I trust him both as a knee surgeon and as a father figure.
Dr. Benner did my revision surgery 4 weeks ago and I can bend my leg at 97 before surgery I was bending at 95 and that was 1 1/2 years after my first surgery. Dr. Benner know what to do to minimize your pain. Dr. Benner is the best, if I could give him 10 stars I would.
Unfortunately I have had to meet with 4 surgeons about my knee injury and each of them has been extremely helpful and had good timely advice with the exception of Dr Benner. He is very uncomfortable to have a conversation with. He goes many weeks without contact and without direction. He does not seem to have much care for me as a person coping with a injury and wanting solutions.
