I would not recommend her. When I told her my issue she laughed and said I'm an orthopedic, you need to go to your regular doctor. I tried to explain I have herniated disc and thought the pain was coming from that. She again repeated I'm an orthopedic. She looked at me like I was an idiot. I am not, i am a nurse. I will never go back or refer someone. I left in tears.
I don't plan to use this doctor again. I was recommended to her by another resurgeons doctor for a epidural injection. She did not read my chart to see that I had injections several times in past years even though they were in front of her. She was also using the same doctors facility who had performed injections on me in the past. I felt the same rushing lots of dr give these days. You know that attitude that says, I have money to make and no time to be reading your chart and only 5 mins to talk to you. I saw through the fa... read more
Dr. Cottrell is rude. She is moody and if you don't agree with her treatment recommendations she gets frustrated. At first I thought she was in a bad mood because she was pregnant but even after having a baby she remains very moody. She may listen to some extent but I plan to change doctors soon. I want a doctor who not only listens but makes me feel as if my health concerns are relevant. I don't like how she breaks bad news to you while she's walking out the door.
Didn't like this doctor. I agree with the person who said she has a bad attitude and HORRIBLE bedside manner. She's moody and failed to read my MRI report. I got a copy of it and I had another potentially serious condition that she did not mention or talk to me about. Don't go to her she may have made it through medical school but she missed the class on total patient care which includes good bedside manner. Won't ever use her again!
Excellent bedside manner, friendly and personable. Took time to answer all of our questions and was very gentle and friendly to my elderly mother who was experincing pain in her knees.
I was referred to Dr. Cottrell for evaulation of a spine condition. She was apparently in a bad mood on this day and though she spends time with you she got visibly agitated with me because I could not perform a movement she asked me to perform because of my physical limitations. She's very defensive when you ask her standard questions about her recommendations. She would not listen to anything I had to say about my previous diagnosis. I left her office in tears and disappointed. I wish there were more quality PMR doctors in... read more
She is the first doctor that I have gone to that actually listen to what was wrong with me and then evaualated my symptons. I felt comfortable in her care.
I was sent to Dr. Cottrell by another physician. She took the time to speak with me and diagnosis my issue. She also took the time to explain to me what her treatment would require and how it may help me. She thinks progressively and not only to the nexxt visit, as many physichians do. She is trying to treat you effectively to preclude you having to contiuously pay out-of-pocket to come see her every couple of weeks.
