Dr. Hood is one of the most knowledgable and competent OB/Gyn's I have ever been treated by. He is a man who "tells it like it is" and also has a very dry sense of humor so if you prefer being treated by a "friend" over being treated by a professional who is an expert in his practice and provides stellar care to his patients, then he probably isn't the doctor for you. But I was more concerned about my health and the health of my newborn and for that I am thankful to have been treated by Dr. Hood
21 years ago Dr Hood delivered my 2nd son. He is a great doctor and a very caring doctor. If anyone needs a good doctor I highly recommend him to anyone.
Had to use on call feature at 38 weeks...was very rude, curt, and short. Very unlike the other docs at this practice. Thankful contractions subsided because I did not want this man delivering my child.
He is a grumpy, rude man. He honestly needs to reevaluate the way he talks to people, even the nurses around him!
He was very rude and unpleasant. Called in to speak with the on all doctor and he answered. He sounded like he was annoyed when inquired about what should I do about my symptoms. I am a first time mom and 37 weeks pregnant. I was having severe cramps and he acted nonchalant and seemed like I was annoying him. I am disgusted at his behavior.
I was going through a miscarriage and he had terrible bedside manners . Speaking rude and with no symptom.
Dr. Hood, Karen, fellow physicians & ENTIRE staff are very conscientious. Their knowledge & compassion surpass any expectation. He makes it clear my time is just as important as his. My sister recommended Maternal Gynerations when it was just Hood & Hearin. We have been seeing Dr. Hood for 22+ years. They have grown tremendously & remain very personable. There are many reputable OBGYN's and GYN's in the Athens area; however, I will continue to drive over an hour to see Dr. Hood & his staff.
