In Jan 1997 I was in a car accident and developed an infection from my many wounds. Dr rebecca shadowen was called in to handle the infection. She ordered care and treatment as part of what she did or was supposed to make sure was done. Through the week everything would seem to be working as of white cell counts and other symptoms. We went for travel medicine before a trip. The doctor doesn't order the vaccines, but sends them to the pharmacy, which causes issues when trying to get insurance to pay for it. We spent two hours with an empty waiting room to watch a poorly made video and have a half interested doctor write some prescriptions. When we called back regarding a pharmacy issue, the secretary was rude. Drive to Nashville for travel meds, and save yourself a headache.
I saw Dr. Shadowen. She is amazing. While talking to me, she blew up a glove into a balloon for my fussing 5 year old. This calmed him and he climbed in her lap. She gave him a hug. All while still working with me and answering my questions. Magical. And BTW, she was right about my health problem. I am soooo much better now. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. Treated my grandmother extremely poorly. Lacks any and all empathy and should not be allowed to see patients. Absolutely no bedside manner!
My late husband was dying from an infectious disease. Dr. Shadowed had been treating him for a long time. It was all of the antibiotics she had been giving him long term, without giving him anything to counteract the effects it was having on him, and it ultimately killed him! The ER Trauma Doctor that admitted him five days before his death told me in no uncertain terms that, he did not get this sick overnight! Five days later my husband, our children's father, grandchildren's papa was dead!
She may be wise to her speciality however she is not prompt, minimal to no bedside manner, and not supportive to other physicians inputs. It was not my choice to be connected with her and I know to not choose her ever.
