We were referred to Dr. Dohil after an underlying condition called EoE was discovered during my son's colonoscopy. We did all the steps our regular pediatric GI told us to do and set an appt with him (which took 6 months to secure). He was over 1 hour late and told us 'this is the way the clinic works' and that he has patients that fly from all over the country to see him specifically so we shouldn't complain. His entire demeanor during the appointment that took all of 20 minutes was that he couldn't be bothered to work with... read more
I completely agree with the other review left, had a less than favorable experience with Dr. Dohil. Didnt seem to care to listen to my concerns as he had already developed a passive aggressive game plan for my son, and even dismissed the concern of him being underweight and not growing, which was the majority of the reason for our visit. We will be visiting another doctor for a second opinion as I dont feel our individual situation was truly considered vs lumped into a generalized situation he is used to dealing with.
I have to echo the sentiments of the other negative review. I found Dr. Dohil completely unwilling to listen. I felt he asked directed questions to arrive at a fixed conclusion. When I tried to follow-up while we were in the midst of a gastro episode, the response time lagged and the follow-up was sub-par. Perhaps not trying to direct a conversation to a diagnosis and taking five minutes to actually listening to the parent's observations might improve patient care.
I saw Dr. Dohil as a child and because of his excellent care I am a lot better off as an adult with a chronic disease. He kept up on all the latest medications and treatments. I'm so thankful that he handled my care at that critical point in my life.
Horrible, Horrible doctor. We waited over 45 minutes in the exam room for him. When I asked the nurse what was going on, she said this was normal for him, he "just works that way". Then when he did come in, he didn't ask my son or myself any questions and interrupted us when we tried to talk. He then gave my son the generic advice to drink more water and eat more fiber and scheduled an expensive test not related to his problem, as far as I could tell. Useless, rude, and condescending.
