I have already filed a complaint to her Board because she continued to see my son after I forbid it in writing. I was pursuing a restraining order against this doctor to prevent her from seeing my 14 year old son. She blatantly violated medical ethics by seeing my son after I wrote that she could not provide any treatment to him. She will learn that as a parent I have rights and she has violated them. I started seeing Dr Raman over a year ago and like her so much I paid out of pocket because she was not on my insurance plan. I also referred others to see her. I began taking a tirzepatide in October of 2022 and by the end of April 2023, had lost 63 lbs. At a spring 2023 appointment, I discussed this with Dr Raman and let her know that I was soon to have new insurance that covered visits with her and I wanted to stay on my weight loss journey. I have been going to Dr. Raman for about 5 years now. She has truly helped to improve my health over that time. She is extremely knowledgeable, while still being respectful of my beliefs when they conflict with medical best practice. She is trustworthy and gives advice with the best of intentions.
Overall great doctor. I have been a patient for years now, and she is very thorough and careful. In another rating, I read that she is not the best for smaller medical visits that just need antibiotics or etc., but I would disagree. I have ADHD, anxiety and depression and she has always been very empathetic and truly wants the best for me personally, even when I was not aware I needed it (due to mental illness). I have been going to this doctor for a number of years. Today, she advised me that she would no longer treat me if I did not agree to get the COVID vaccination. I told her I would be more than happy to find another doctor that does not pressure their patients to engage in medical treatment in which they are not comfortable. I lived in Manhattan for several years and was never able to find a doctor who was attentive and truly cared for their patients. During one of my visits my best friend that lives in New Orleans recommended Dr Raman. On a visit to New ORleans I tried her and fell in love with her and would even fly from New York for office appointments while visiting. She is the best of the best and you will love her, her staff, and the attention to detail she provides.
Primary care physician
Dr. Raman almost always has same day appointments, which is helpful. However, she has made terrible medical mistakes in diagnosing and treating me. Honestly, she was wrong about my health and diagnosis probably 95% of the time over the time that I saw her. I strongly recommend against seeing her for anything other than something that clearly needs only antibiotics.
I have extreme anxiety when visiting the doctor, but from the beginning, Dr. Raman’s office has been warm and welcoming. I searched for the perfect doctor after moving to New Orleans, and I finally found that doctor in Dr. Raman. She listens to my every need, and we have developed a genuine relationship. I recommend her to all of my family and friends!
