Dr Kohler took the time to sit and look me and my wife in the eye while explaining what my options were. Subsequent visits were not rushed and explanations given. Very pleased with his care.
He said things to me which no doctor should ever say to a cancer patient. Right after my double mastectomy with clear lymph nodes, he told me that I was going to die from breast cancer. He said many other such horrible comments such as 'your cancer will come back and when it does it will be inoperable'. Thank God my husband was in the room and heard it all. Otherwise people might think I was exaggerating.
Dr Kohler saw me immediately, answered all my questions honestly, and took excellent care of me throughout my treatment! He’s brilliant. I see him every 6 months and he always has new information to share. I would give him 10 stars if I could!
We tried twice to discuss options, treatment, care, both times I walked out vowing to never return. Highly recommend University of Michigan.
Based on reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect when we were scheduled to meet with Dr.Kohler, Medical Oncologist. Our entire process & planning with the Cowell Cancer Center Team was awesome! Dr. Kohler spent a great length of time with us. He reviewed test results & explained the grades of the 9 biopsies that were taken. All our questions were answered. Extremely Rude, large ego,left my family with no hope. And refused to give treatment, so instead went to cancer treatment of America. Got great care.
My husband and I saw Dr. Kohler today for the first time. He was gentle and highly sympathetic. He has a brilliant mind and we feel we are in the very best hands moving forward. Wayne and Roxie Fluent
he tends to "talk down" to you , and especially if you're well-read on the subject he gets defensive etc the ideal is for "informed choice" by the patient , in my opinion ; he wasn't my choice, he was "referral" from the Munson/Cowell system
