I have worked closely with Dr. Paul Mitchell. as far back when he was a Third Year senior Resident At NNMC (Bethesda) Before it became (Wally World), Those Dr's at that time were the cream of the Crop, Dr Mitchell continued onto Portsmouth Naval then he left the Military to enter into Private Practice, He is one of the Best Neuro Surgery Doctors on the East Coast, He is Confident, assured, experienced and has a realm of colleagues from past and present he can consult with, He is an Expert!
Dr. Mitchell fused L1-L5 after I fractured two vertebrae by falling out of a tree in 2003. I'm submitting this review 14 years later to report that the surgery was literally a miracle in terms of how it fixed my spine, ended long-term chronic back pain and improved my general health. At age 71 I'm still more active, have better weight control, and just generally feel better. I found Dr. Michell to be an engaged, thoughtful and incredibly skillful surgeon. I give him my highest recommendation.
I was referred to Dr Mitchell for evaluation of my scoliosis. However someone put the reason for appointment as back pain. Only 1 of mri's were reviewed before my appointment. I feel Dr Mitchell was not prepared for my issue. I will not return.
Takes his time, really listens has compassion and I think he is great. He placed my IT pump and it went like clock work. Helen Bellamy
