The staff made a mistake when scheduling my appointment, didn't apologize, and told me I would have to come in another day (I was already in the office) and basically kicked me out of the office. I called my insurance company, who profusely apologized even though it wasn't their fault, and finally Island Dermatology saw me that day. BUT, I didn't get to see their main dermatologist, Dr. Navid Nami, and instead was seen by their creepy and unhelpful PA, Dr. Daryl Tibbs. I had an appointment but the doctor was there because of 'plastic surgery' and I had to be rescheduled on a different day. Office staff was extremely rude kept yelling. She won't need training to perform Cinderella's step mother.
His staff is extremely condescending and rude. A staff member told me she had made a mistake on my information, and that I would have to see their PA, Dr. Daryl Tibbs, instead. He made me EXTREMELY uncomfortable: Although my questions were thought out and well researched, he constantly cut me off and laughed at my concerns. I would list names of medications I've heard about, and he would reply abruptly "Yeah, that could work if you want me to write you up a prescription for it." Dr. Nami obviously does not have time for HMO patients. After 15 minutes filling out forms and another 15 waiting for him, he spent not more than 3 minutes with me. He refused to answer my questions over-talking me with "I am the doctor here and I don't need to see any more" when I tried to elaborate. If you need a Dermatologist, don't bother with this waste of time.
A very attentive and caring physician in a nice, family atmosphere. Willing to take the time to help with the extras, even though he's busy. High energy, "get it done now" attitude. I'm happy to have been referred to Island Dermatology.
He's a really good doctor, always smiling and helpful. I'm highly satisfied.
