I met Dr. McDermott as an Inpatient at Summerlin Hospital back on 12/4-10/2017, then again 1/31-2/10/2018! She DID remember me the first time I was admitted and again, she took her time to explain what was happening with my Crohn's Disease, (diagnosed at 22 yrs. young), inherited from my Nanny; my Mom's Mom. I met Dr. McDermott over at Summerlin Hospital and liked her so much she told how to become a patient of hers if I needed any further GI help. The girls in her office are very nice although I have to admit they aren't very good at scheduling. That's about the only complaint I have about her. Otherwise I think she's a wonderful Doctor who LISTENS unlike most!

I had a colonoscopy on Dec 20. Could not finish because of a mass that could not pass at which time this doctor said she would send s referral for a cat scan. It is the 12 of January and still cannot contact dr. Went to an appointment on jan8. was told they would sent a referral called this morning and was told it was never sent. I would never recommend this doctor. How can a dr or office be recommended when you can not get ahold of them or there office

She is a good Dr but I’ve had a horrible experience getting prescriptions refilled! Her telephone system is AWFUL! I’ve called & left many messages. Finally talked to someone that emailed messages (twice) for Alex to please call me. No callbacks—ever! Had an appointment & explained the problems. Dr M asked Alex to make sure I got scripts. Pharmacy asked for more info & never received responses from Drs office! I faxed Alex the problems. Went into office today & they weren’t there. I’m DONE!!

Dr. McDermott is well-qualified, very thorough and quite helpful and patient in responding to my questions and concerns about the two procedures I was having. She is a wonderful doctor and I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Atrocious experience. Her staff lied about my insurance needing authorization for my EGD, as well as saying my insurance was closed the day of the emergency procedure. In robes prepped for surgery she talks me out of getting the procedure done at this hospital since she doesn't want me stuck with the bill, but could do it over at her resident hospital later that night. Come to find out, we call my insurance who is OPEN, needing no approval for any surgeries. Out to get money, unprofessional

Dr McDermott is very nice. She is extremely knowledgeable. She is up to date with all new research and studies. She knows exactly what she is talking about. She also likes to take her time to explain to patient about their condition. She is just simply amazing. We love her. She saved my life.

I met Dr McDermott through Mountain view hospital. She was very caring. She listened to me. She explained to me what was going on with me. She took excellent care of me. I highly recommend her. I am so glad I got to know her. She is an excellent physician who only wants the best for her patients.
