Dr. Munir falsified patient information and about tests run, as well as lied to my primary physician. Do NOT go to this doctor!
Dr. Munir was recommended by my grandsons elementary school. I called and left a message to schedule an appointment five days ago. I never received a call back from his office.
I have been a therapist for over 20 years and worked with a lot of psychiatrists but Dr Munir is who I chose to see my child. I was impressed with his office, office staff and the speed of the wait. Dr Munir took time to explain my child's diagnosis and possible medications with compassion. He also reinforced that there is nothing "wrong" with my child but this is simply an issue that needs to be addressed.
Called to attempt to make an appt. They insisted I had to call and could not make an appt via email despite current anxiety surrounding making phone calls. When I became distraught on the phone call they brought Dr Munir on the line. He proceeded to tell me to go to a walk in clinic. I was sobbing uncontrollably. He hung up on me. Seriously. This man clearly doesn't care about anyone's mental health. He didn't even attempt to give me an address or something to a walk in clinic. Just hung up.
Dr. Munir listens and works with you to find a medication for you. It can be challenging to find the right medicine to help your individual needs and all mental health meds are not freaked equal. He will take the time to speak with you over the phone also, which is exceptional. From our 1st appointment he assured me we were in this together and he would not let me to slide into depression again. We have been managing my condition for over 3 years now and I am grateful because he gave me hope.
Dr. Munir found a good balance of medications that stabilized me which was fantastic. However, with a high deductible HSA and an unrelated surgery, I was unable to pay my minimal balance in full within their required time (despite informing them that I would be able to do so within the coming month pending further HSA contributions) and so they simply refused to call in the medication. So much for the whole Hippocratic Oath thing...
Dr. Munir was pleasant enough, but we felt as though he could have paid better attention to the concerns we had about my daughter's medication. We chose to leave his practice and find another doctor.
