In 2012 my mother had called the office of Dr Flaherty explaining symptoms of heavy feeling on her chest, teeth pain as if she had been grinding her teeth and severe shortness of breath. The woman who took the call said she should be seen and made an appointment for the next day! After doing a test with an antiquated machine Dr Flaherty quickly told me I needed to take her to Allegheny General Hospital and that he would call ahead to let them know we were coming. Dr. Flaherty and his staff have taken excellent care of me and my family for years now. During an emergency hospitalization we dealt with a surgeon and hospital staff, but Dr. Flaherty was also available and present FAR above-and-beyond what I would normally expect when 24-hour care was already being provided by hospital staff.
