Doctor Hegewald has been my doctor for over a decade and he is the best doctor I have ever had. I meet with him once a year and he always has some new information regarding my condition from reading up on the most recent research. He explains it all so well, too. I never have a hard time understanding him and he is very easy to talk to.
I have seen Dr. Hegewald since he diagnosed my Crohns disease in 2001. It was a relief to have him recognize the connection among my variety of life-long (immune) symptoms. I have always found him to be enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and patient. He takes time to listen to my questions and explain the answers. He is responsive to my phone calls, as needed. I have always recommended Dr. H. to others, I appreciate his "old school" practicality, sharp thinking, and friendly, but direct manner.
Worst Dr I've consulted with. He was arrogant, lacking compassion and simply not very intelligent. I informed him that my transit time was 4 days due to a spinal cord injury and he laughed at me and argued the fact. My transit time is now down to 5-6 days and I'm suffering greatly. I also told him about my daily pressurized water enema routine, and his response was if my patients knew about that they wouldn't need me. Shame on this guy !!!
