Dr. barely remembered my hist.(kept referring to things not in my records)Ran about 1hr 20m late. but agree with other comments about staff being overly involved and discussing private info infront of other patients.DR.made me feel very concerned about my irreg.cycle-"could be anything" but pushed for an emeg. biopsy on the spot, along with pap,and blood work. I waited a month and still never heard from him. I called and left messages and still never got a response. When I did finally reach the office manager, instead of put... read more
I have mixed feeling about Dr. Essig, at times he is the best but he forgets what meds your on what was decided at your last visit. The head nurse can be a bit over bearing. I did not like my insurance info being shouted across a waiting room. The office is a to small and the equipment is old. At his prices everything should be brand new.
I have mixed feelings about Dr. Essig. At times he seems concerned and trustworthy, but has his flaws. He never remembers your history and you need to remind him what medication you are taking and what is the plan. He is very vague about your issues, does not give you specific numbers or detailed explanations. Head nurse acts as she is a doctor and does not respect your privacy. I found her to be really annoying.I am looking for a new RE.
Dr. Mitchell Essig has been my OB/GYN for 21 years~since my difficult pregnancy in 1989. I bore my one and only precious daughter healthily, with no complications, thank God... Dr. Essig, and the former Dr. Peter Sarosi, who delivered her. When I was laboring to birth my baby, though Dr. Essig was off duty that particular Saturday he came to BIMC with one of his young sons in tow, just to be present to me. I was deeply moved and will always remember that extraordinary kindness. Dr. Essig is a beautiful, compassionate, extrao... read more
The best OB/GYN that I have ever had. He is compassionate, caring, and human. He was wonderful through my infertility treatments and his staff were so incredible during the tough moments. I am so sad that he is giving up his OB practice because I always hoped he would deliver my baby, but he has been very wonderful during the transition. He's phenomenal and would highly recommend him.
The doctor seems to be very knowledgeable about his stuff. Although, no pregnancy on my first IUI, I'll probably give him another go on my next cycle. On the other note, there are really troubling issues with the way his practice is run. 1) Very old, delapidated equipment and clogged office space; 2)Horrendous front desk staff...really aweful. Head nurse regularly discussed patient issues right in the waiting area in front of other patients - what about privacy and basic courtesy?! As the doctor is difficult to reach by phon... read more
Dr. Essig has been an exceptionally caring and supportive doctor to me during two painful events; he has also been a knowledgeable and thorough doctor who helped me achieve a healthy pregnancy. I wish he would remain an OB to carry me through the pregnancy, but I would 100% recommend him to anyone seeking a compassionate and amazing doctor for infertility treatments. The staff is also wonderful!
This doctor was great until I had lost a pregnancy and he made me wait 3 hours.. and was uncompastionate and rude. When I asked for tests after my 2nd miscarriage he was nasty. Needless to say I found out was wrong with me changed doctors and had a healthy baby.
