Dr. Stashower has been my dermatologist since 2006. I have seen him for several skin conditions. His diagnoses and the treatment have always been correct. He treated me succsessfully for a condition that had other dermatologists baffled. Not only is he a good clinician, he has outstanding interpersonal skills, listens and answers questions without patronizing the patient. I highly recommend Dr. Stashower.
I went to see Dr. Stashower with a mole that had recently started to grow. I arrived, checked in, was almost immediately shown into a patient room. The nurse asked me a couple of quick questions and Dr. Stashower himself appeared less than five minutes later. He that examined the mole, and explained that I likely had nothing to worry about but offered to remove it immediately if I wanted. He was friendly, courteous and patiently answered my questions. All of my family, including (daughters and grandson) have been going to Clinical Skin Center in Fair Oaks for almost 10 years. Dr. Stashower is very knowledgeable, patient and kind, and takes time to answer any questions we may have. Their staff is friendly and professional. My experiences with Dr. Stashower have always been very positive. He is professional, courteous, and thorough. Procedures have been quick and painless, and the information about after-care has been clear and helpful. I have also had great experiences with his staff. On my last visit, there was a very confused older lady who was in the wrong building at the wrong doctor's office. The receptionist went with her to help her find her way to the correct location. My daughter was prescribed an acutane treatment. The prescription is overseen by the FDA to ensure that women take precautions to avert becoming pregnant. Each month (treatment usually lasts approximately 6 months) - 1. join a service that administers a monthly test; 1. take a blood test 2. see the doctor; 3. get a monthly prescription; 4. have the nurses call the positive blood test and test from the service to the pharmacy; and, the prescription; 5. pick up the prescription at the pharmacy. Dr. Stashower provides impeccible care. I found him to be extremely personable and caring. I've always been seen ontime and have never felt rushed. This is an amazing practice and I will be a patient for life.
Doc is great but you can't get in to see him, and the nurses don't return your calls, it doesn't matter how good he is. First time, I was bitten by dozens of bugs and the intense itching caused me to scratch myself bloody. Calls were not returned. This time, after exposure to an allergen, my scalp is itchy, raw and bleeding. I tried all remedies I had. I have job interviews, psoriasis on my face, can't sleep, first appointment available is 3 weeks and after 2 messages, no return calls. Sad.
I have been a patient for the last 10 years but Dr. Stashouer's practice has really declined. You can't get an appointment for several months and then the appt is 10 mins. They dismiss you. Nothing is ever available and when you do get seen, they rush you in and out.
My husband and I have both been patients of Dr Stashower for years and have complete confidence in his diagnostic and surgical skills. We are grateful for his attentive and caring professionalism.
