In 1989 at the age of 26, Dr. Riva graduated as a Certified Specialist in Orthodontics from the University of Toronto. We are in the final weeks before our daughter gets her braces off and have had nothing but positive experiences at this office. Dr. Riva has been thorough and informative, taking time to explain the process as we've gone along. His team, front office and hygiene team are all lovely and kind. We would highly recommend Dr. Riva and his team for any orthodontic work you require!

Dr. Riva was recommended by our family dentist as well as several of our friends. Right from the first meeting there was a very special feeling about his office. We are seen on time and the staff are always friendly. My daughter’s teeth were a mess and they now look great thanks to Dr. Riva and his crew. Can’t recommend this office enough - we had a great experience there!
Terrific office! I am very grateful to Dr. Riva and his staff for helping me through my journey to a wonderful smile. Dr. Riva did an amazing job straightening my very crooked teeth. The beautiful ladies who changed and tightened the braces did so with the least possible pain. And, the lovely ladies at reception were so accommodating with my frequent schedule changes.
Not the office for athletes. My son plays numerous sports and needs a custom mouth guard, but the office won't make them since they have to adjust the braces every 6 weeks and would have to make a new mouth guard each time to get a proper fit. I'm told to purchase a mouth guard that can be molded using hot water from a sports store or Canadian Tire. However, those won't fit with his braces, I've tried a few now ranging from cheap to expensive. My son has a friend who sees Dr. Pasquale and he will do a custom mouth guard for ... read more

Athletes have always been special to us. Dr. Riva has been a strong contributor to athletics in Niagara as a benefactor and as a coach. He is a former multi-sport athlete who has coached and treated a vast amount of athletes at various levels of sport over the years. Our office has made countless free mouth guards for athletes. We do not generally recommend custom mouth guards during orthodontics because they can interfere with proper orthodontic tooth movement. I met with a few orthodontists before we met Dr. Riva. Upon meeting, I was impressed, he is personable and took his time explaining procedure to my daughter and put her mind at ease. His staff are so accommodating and never make us wait. Appointments are not overbooked and he doesn't rush the process in order to make money. I love his pleasant staff and the fact that my time is valuable too.
My daughter who is a student at Brock University had completed her ortho work in Toronto. She had metal bar that became loose behind her bottom teeth. I found Dr. Rivas office through ratemds. I called the office and they gave her an appointment the following day that fit into her school schedule. She said that everyone in the office was amazing and she is sorry that she didn’t have all her orthodontics in this office.
