DeLand office: Easily got an appt with courteous & helpful staff, waited only 5 minutes to go into exam room, then the personable Dr Gutierrez thoroughly checked me out, explained everything, took care of what was needed and then came back to answer yet another one of my questions. Great experience with competent, knowledgeable and delightful Doctor & staff.

Dr. Gutierrez provided only a cursory examination of my skin even though the stated reason for my visit was a thorough skin exam. There was little explanation of what was being 'done' and NO explanation as to caring for my skin after the treatment. All in all -- terrible experience. This was not my first skin exam; I get an examine every 18 months. I know a good exam when I have one and this was not a good exam.
If I could give less than 1 star I would. I experienced EXACTLY what other patients giving 2 stars or less experienced. He was rude, condescending and generally unpleasant to speak with. Him & staff barely let me speak as he belittled me for coming in without having something he could culture. No one seemed to care to hear my whole story or what antibiotics I had already taken. I thought maybe I caught him on a bad day but after reading other reviews now I see that's just who he really is.

Dr. Gutierrez is easily the most unprofessional medical professional I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. His priority is clear - maximization of revenue at the expense of patient care. I would also question Dr. Gutierrez's proficiency, he does not appear to be current on the latest developments in dermatology.
Did not listen to my issues at all and jumped to conclusions. Was not interested in spending any time with me to learn about my history. He just wanted to wash his hands of me. His staff was very good and did do a good job, but I did not like Dr. Gutierrez's attitude.

Gutierrez is grossly inattentive. On a first and last visit to him for acne problems, I provided a list of medicines that had previously been ineffective. Mikey (I won't call him Doctor) did not take the time to review the list and prescribed two of the same medications. I might expect something like that from an intern at the end of a 36 hour shift, but not for a two minute consultation.
Michael Gutierrez, MD is an exceptional doctor with a great bedside manner! My father was very apprehensive about going to the dermatologist. Several people recommended Dr. Gutierrez. I got him an appointment within a couple days. The process was easy, and we didn't wait 10 minutes to see the doctor! We actually SAW the doctor within 10 minutes!!! Dr. Gutierrez is very efficient and my father was pleased. I highly recommend Dr. Gutierrez.
I have been a patient at Mid Florida Dermatology for 16 years. I have always been impressed with the care that has been given to me. I have been going to the office in Altamonte Springs on Maitland Ave. The receptionist made me feel welcomed. Mickelle Riley the nurse practitioner was extremely though with me. Living in Florida is definitely a concern with sun exposure, Mickelle is professional, well informed, friendly and I definitely felt like I received excellent care. Thank you!
After one minute in his office for a follow-up, he expressed in a rude manner that he will not waste his time trying to find out the cause of my eczema. It could be anything. And he walked away. The first consult lasted two minutes.
