Best Eye Doctor in the State
I was a patient of Dr. Caruso for 25 years and this office has declined over the years. He is "average" in our area and my eyes deserve the best care. I had a minor condition with my eye that he failed to treat completely with inadequate antibiotics, so I needed a follow-up appointment. I could see from my seat that he left another patient room with a file folder and then came in to see me, switched on the light switch and with the same dirty rubber gloves on, he started to approach my eye. I called him out on it. Not only i... read more
My cataract procedures were performed by Dr. Caruso and his staff with efficiency and yet personal attention! Successful on both eyes and the experience was easy to go through!
Unfulfilling and Disatisfying
I have been going to Dr. Caruso for 12yrs and I have never EVER experienced any of the issues that are listed here. The man is knowable compassionate and genuinely concerned about the health and well being of his patients.
My mother went here and was told she'd need glasses, she didn't want the glasses and they reported her to the DMV and now, at great personal expense, she has to book a driving school instructor to take her up to May's Landing to perform a Driver's test. While my mother was at fault for not taking the glasses, I feel that the Dr had the responsibility to inform her that if she refused them, he would have to report her and she might be contacted by the DMV...he never did that. Shame on them for
Had procedure that did not work for a stye. Had to do it twice after telling me that he may not had gone deep enough. Received a bill for over $7,000! Come to find out that I could had had the procedures at CRMC without cost to me and although he is across the street and has many hospital employees as clients, did not offer this to me. I feel ripped off and used. Took a while to get the bill down and ended up paying over $500. Will be going to another doctor in the future.
Have been to the Dr. for 2 separate cataract surgeries. Doctor is very informative, thorough and has a fantastic staff. Never waited more than 20 minutes to be treated during 6 different appt.s.
Procedure performed was not effective, but he effectively charged double and collected a double payment, no follow up.
Business response:
Procedures and surgeries performed at an Ambulatory Surgery Center or hospital setting are billed with two separate fees: One is for the professional fee, the doctor fee, and the second is for the facility fee. These fees are standard in Medicare and all insurance companies. Hope this clears up your misunderstanding of being billed double. Thank you for your comments and we always try to help and satisfy our patients.
