My one year check up with Dr. Michael Bates went great. The knee replacement performed by him made my quality of life much better. I'm thankful for the ability to walk without so much pain again. I refer Dr. Bates to anyone in need of a knee replacement. My physical therapist upon completion of the surgery said the same.
Dr. Bates helped me through and preformed both my left and right total hip arthroplasty surgeries in a 6 month time span. At 36 years old, I didn’t think I would have to go through two hip replacement procedures, but I did. Dr. Bates kept me calm while I was anxious and answered any/all questions I had pre and post-op. He and everyone at OrthoCarolina were wonderful during my recovery process! A big thanks to everyone in helping me.
Dr. Bates, expressing medical procedures I. Way anyone can understand. I’ve been having knee issues for a while, and he’s not immediately suggestion knee replacement, but giving me the option to decide what’s better for me. He suggest for me to try a few things first and then look at my calendar decided when it make sense to do it if that’s what I want to do.
Had my left knee replaced June 2025. Dr. Bates is the best. He gets 5 stars from me, he is AMAZING , VERY KIND, understood my anxiety, just WONDERFUL!!
I’m so glad I chose Ortho Carolina and Dr Bates to perform my knee replacement! I felt comfortable with Dr. Bates from my first visit. He gave me all the time I needed to ask questions and express any concerns. He was very responsive to my post op needs and was encouraging each step of the way. The best thing about my surgery is that my knee is totally healed and pain free! I had such a good outcome that when my husband needed a knee replacement, Dr. Bates was the one we called!
