Dr Castro and his team have stood by me as I traveled down the road to recovery. I really appreciate that.
Dr Castro was easily the worst doctor I have ever seen. I slid on ice, and had a minor ankle fracture. Dr Castro performed surgery. I started to experience serious pain issues while undergoing physical therapy. Dr Castro did not take my complaints seriously. After my appointment with him he told me to just "man up" and deal with the pain myself. I eventually found a more competent doctor. There were multiple issues, which required 4 different surgical procedures.
Dr. Castro saw my wife for foot pain for a 2nd opinion, since the 1st doctor prescribed 2 antibiotics and a $300 in-sole that didn't help. Dr. Castro was very knowledgeable, helpful and clear on the cause of the pain, the foot mechanics, and options for treatment. He gave us all the time to answer our questions (rare nowadays), and also diagnosed a previous unrelated foot issue that my wife described. He even checked me out after I accused similar symptoms with my wife's, and offered advice.
Dr. Castro displays genuine interest and sincere concern for the patient, including providing details about the exam & findings, recommendations, follow-up and any ongoing care. Dr. Castro willing to share the same (at patient's request) with the patient's spouse. Liked Dr. Castro's approach and openness in answering all questions. Dr. Castro's staff - Jodi, Sarah, Dan and Laura are all great as well.
Wonderful experience following ankle fracture. Dr. Castro performed surgery and recovery has been great. Entire staff has been very helpful including Jody his Paient Coordinator.
My complaint is not specifically with Dr. Castro who took good care of me. The patient coordinator Jodi did not return my first set of messages for several WEEKS after it was identified that I needed surgery. She was not responsive on other interactions. She is clearly overwhelmed and/or not able to deliver customer care.
Dr. Castro took very good care of me and did a terrific job on my ankle surgery. I would recommend anybody to see him for the best foot or ankle care.
Even though he was my doctor of record, I never saw him. It is likely that his analysis of my Xray was helpful however -- I can't imagine that the P.A. read the Xray. However, Laura A. (his P.A.) was just going through the motions when dealing with me -- absolutely no care for the patient, not thinking things through, nor was she able to see a problem happening.
Strongly recommend you look elsewhere. I've never met a doctor so wrong and arrogantly disinterested in helping patients. His assistant Jody is clearly stressed out and doesn't (or can't) take the time to return phone calls or even update her voicemail greeting. Save a lot of time and money, look elsewhere for someone that prioritizes patients and actually wants to help people.
