When my previous doctor retired, she recommended Dr. Backens. I had never even heard of him, but I am so glad she referred me. I'm very discriminating and careful about the doctors I pick; and honestly, there's nothing that I don't like about Dr. Backens or his genuinely caring, cheerful, accommodating staff. I contacted the office to schedule with this doctor nearly a year ago. Got an appointment 3 months later. They said I could fill out paperwork online or come early on the day of the appointment to do it. I called a few days before appointment and was told the office would be closed the day of my appointment and that they had NOT scheduled me with Dr. Backens. Dr. Matthew Backens failed to find two kidneys stones I had. I went to him several times in the time frame of two months complaining of abdominal pains and he did several labs (over a period of those two months), there was blood in my urine and he was mystified of why. Yet he did not do the appropriate testing to find out what was causing this pain I was having. His PA didn't' impress me either and missed it too, ordering a pelvic ultrasound which showed nothing wrong, while I still was having horrible pain. I called his off... read more
Dr Backens is always very professional and It’s very easy to understand his directions and diagnosis. Excellent Doctor.
I have been a patient of Dr. Bakens for several years. He is patient kind and always takes as much time as needed to answer any questions or concerns. He even calls you to go over tests results personally. Would highly recommend him .
