I had a very disappointing experience with this doctor and his staff. Unfortunately, I don’t believe they are well-suited to care for children, as they showed little compassion or understanding in our situation.Our appointment was scheduled for 3:30 PM, and we arrived at 2:48 PM. most of the exam is done by a nurse and not a doctor. The office is not clear with what insurance doesn't cover and when you go to retrieve the glasses prescription you are told if you don't pay for a test that was performed not covered by insurance (don't even know if the test is necessary), they won't give you the prescription. This is disgusting.
Dr. Dorfman is okay, but do not trust Eye Surgery Associates . They do not disclose real prices. The facility that they chose for us told us 4 times they will only charge us $181. Then a month later the facility sends a new made up bill for $907. Eye Surgery Associates says they have nothing to do with that, and say call the facility that THEY REQUIRE you to use. But when we call the facility they don't care, and say they can change the price to whatever they want. So, nobody helps.
Dr. Dorfman is great, but don’t order your child’s glasses from the office. The optical department is awful. After being told my son needed glasses I decided to order them from their optical department to ensure proper fit and prescription. I have to say I am so disappointed with this department, after many phone calls and waiting ten days our glasses are still not ready. I called and spoke to the optical department manager, who now told me they would be in on Monday, almost two weeks after I pl
My daughter was referred to Dr Dorfman by her pediatrician due to strabismus. She has seen him since she was 4 months old and the entire experience has been outstanding. His entire staff and Dr Dorfman himself are amazing professionals. My daughter ended up needing surgery to correct her strabismus and I couldn't recommend a better environment not only for my daughter but for an anxious mom too. She is now close to 18 months and wouldn't think of taking her anywhere else.
My son has been seeing Dr. Dorfman since he was 3 months old. Ten years later and he is still the best. His professionalism and thorough patient care is why we travel over an hour to see him. His staff have always been very kind and helpful!

Today at my post op appointment, I heard Dr. Dorfman utter the words I have been dying to hear after my son's surgery...perfect! And I agree! He has always been honest and straight forward with our expectations and did it all with a smile and a warm heart. I trusted him with my son's first surgery and the experience was a positive one. Every time I walk into the office, the staff greets us by name before we even sign in and everything goes smoothly! Thank you Dr. Dorfman and staff!
very disappointed with the office as a whole where all they want to do is make appointments but then when you get there everything changes and the they want you to keep coming back over and over . every rep you speak to gives you another story
