I had been slated for surgery of my cervical spine from another doctor. I decided to seek a 2nd opinion and went to see Dr. Mikhael. He was through in explaining the MRI of my spine, also indicating I DID NOT need surgery! He explained to myself and my son, why surgery was not necessary. I went for back pain he did not even examine me or took more info, did not address my concerns, he made me to do MRI, PTs and then he made me to come again to see him and of course pay again to tell me that he does not know what's the problem, he referred me to do epidural, such a waster of time and money

Dr. Mikhael is an amazing surgeon. He has a very gentle bedside manner that is not often common among surgeons. He was thorough and even scheduled a second consultation with me to address additional questions and anxieties I had regarding the replacement of two cervical discs. I fully trust him with any additional spinal needs I may have in the future. I wholeheartedly recommend him if you are looking for an experienced, humble, highly knowledgeable and experienced, gentle surgeon.

After being crushed by an excavator, Dr. Mark performed surgery on my neck where I had extreme pain, very little movement, and no quality in my daily life. After his procedure to repair my neck and following his directions after the surgery, I have returned to a normal life again with no consequences at all. I came to Dr. Mikhael after being diagnosed with cervical stenosis and not finding success with nonsurgical treatments. I chose him because he was able to do artificial disc replacement on 2 discs and cause he's with Illinois Bone and Joint Institute which several family and friends have had great success. I felt very comfortable and at ease in my dealings with Dr. Mikhael. He explained everything, answered all my questions and was very compassionate. His assistant Joe is great too.

This Extremely compassionate orthopedic surgeon saved my mobility. I had a spinal cord injury my cord was being compressed by some discs that had been herniated for quite a few years ...... My symptoms the numbness in my right hand and my right leg weakness came on gradually and by then I was already in danger...... Dr Mark Mikhael of Illinois Bone and Joint Institute performed emergency surgery on my cervical spine ..... Decompressed my spinal cord and because of him I walk ...... I will soon r

My husband saw an orthopedic surgeon prior to seeing Dr. Mikhael and was given a very gloom and doom prognosis. It was stressful and heartbreaking. After Dr. Mikhael reviewed my husbands scans, he assured us that my husband wasn't in need of surgery and was diagnosed with something much less severe than originally thought. He assured us everything was going to be ok. He was very kind and changed our lives for the better that day. I will forever be grateful.
