I’ve been a patient of Dr. Hontas for many years. He’s the only orthopedic doctor I would trust to perform my surgery.
I have used Dr. Mark Hontas for many years. He’s very friendly, knowledgeable & an excellent surgeon. I never feel rushed & he’s great to take the time to explain things. His office is very friendly also & efficient.
His staff is friendly and efficient. Dr. Hontas has always taken the time to answer all of my questions and I never felt hurried. As I completed physical therapy after TKR surgery, he followed my progress closely and encouraged me throughout the process. I would highly recommend him.
Caring and competent. When I walked in I was in pain due to an inflammation of tendons on my left hip. Walking was hard and stairs were impossible. He quickly diagnosed the problem and administered a treatment. Now I am back to normal and very grateful.
I don’t care about wait times or how friendly the staff is. What counts is results. I have had 2 surgeries with him. Both went off flawlessly. The problem was completely corrected with a minimum of pain and discomfort. That’s what counts.

Excellent! Dr. Hontas is impressive as he is easy-going, very informative, and supportive. He explains your condition and treatment options in easy to understand language. What a relief to find a true professional. His staff is helpful, friendly, and professional. X rays on sire. I did not have to do new patient forms as they had pulled them from Ochsner. Effective, efficient, prepared, and friendly Doctor and staff!
HE IS A CARING DOCTOR WITH THE KNOWKEDGE AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO HELP HIS PATIENTS. VERY HONEST, VERY CONCERNED AND WANTS THE BEST OUTCOME FOR EVERYONE WHO SEES HIM. EVERYONE WHO WORKS WITH HIM IN THE OFFICE AND IN THE HOSPITALS ARE ALL WONDERFUL. THEY ARE LIKE AN EXTENDED FAMILY. EVERYONE THERE GETS AN A PLUS. HE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BY THE KELLUM FAMILY.
I dreaded knee replacement surgery so I avoided treatment and took increasing levels of pain killers until I caused stomach bleeding. Realizing that I had to get the knee taken care of, I found Dr Mark Hontas. Because of the amount of pain, he also thought that I needed replacement surgery, but sent me for an MRI. The MRI showed the meniscus was badly torn and had wedged into the knee joint. The excruciating pain I'd suffered was gone overnight after arthroscopic surgery to clean up the knee!
