Dr Gerber was not very good at explaining my situation. Dissatisfied with the surgery and would not recommend him. My back is worse than before I had the surgery.
Excellent Doctor, with modern procedures, and great staff. He explained procedures in a very simple manner, and was informed with enough information that made me comfortable to choose him for the medical attention I needed over other Neurosurgeons that had consulted with.
After dealing with severe lower back pain for quite a while, I had an MRI done and was immediately sent to the ER by Dr. Gerber's practice to have surgery, which was my first meeting with Dr. Gerber. He had a great bedside manner and assured me that I would be back to normal in no time. I had a microdiscectomy to repair cauda equina syndrome and feel like a totally new person now. Follow ups with him were also very pleasant and informative. Would absolutely recommend to anyone in this situation
I had a prior back surgery by another doctor which was a disaster. This left me with the need for a fix that would last. Doctor Gerber fully explained the benefits of using a spinal stimulator for my back pain. He and his P.A. have done a great job with the trial and permanent installation for the stimulator. They have a great relationship with Medtronic, the maker. The team approach has been great, and I feel this long term solution will be well supported to give me relief for years.
He has no compassion for his patients. I had a MRI and he did not read the Radiologist's report prior to my appointment. He just put the picture of my neck on the screen and said everything was fine, when in fact the Radiologist had a completely different opinion. He spent 5 minutes with my husband and I and then he walked out of the room.
Dr.Gerber is softspoken, highly skilled, dedicated and informative. He was detailed in his findings & his recommendation. He clarified all my concerns. His staff was very, very helpful with aiding in coverage for the medical procedure. I was very pleased that his team worked together in sync to make scheduling favorable to the medically necessary treatment. I would definitely recommend him for treatment.
HAVING SPENT WAY MORE TIME AS A PATIENT OF DR. GERBER THAN I COULD HAVE IMAGINED- THERE ISNT A BETTER NEUROSURGEON, AND I INVESTIGATED THEM ALL. I HAVE COMPLETE FAITH AND TRUST IN HIM AND HIS TEAM
Never got to see the doctor! Staff is rude and incompetent, totally unprofessional! My son was referred to this office to be established first time visit for a back injury. He is a student in college and is home for the summer recovering. We are in Bradenton, which is a two + hour drive. His appt. was confirmed the day before. He drove down to meet the doctor and gave his Aetna insurance card to them at the front desk, only to be told that his insurance wasn't accepted by them! Waste of time!
Dr.Gerber is knowledgeable yet does not like to take the time and explain what is going on. Also talks in a degrading manner to some staff members in front of me on several occasions.
