Received a carotid artery stent by Dr Assar. It was a difficult procedure for me, but Dr Assar and his team did a great job. Dr Assar is very caring and compassionate. I have had to make a few emergency, last minute appointments lately, and his office was very accommodating. His assistants are all professional and efficient and compassionate also. I highly recommend Dr Assar if you are looking for a cardiologist.
Dr. Assar was very attentive and listened to my concerns. I didn't feel rushed and I feel confident in the care I'm getting.
I was having a problem which I thought came from one of the meds that was prescribed for me. The doctor agreed that it very well could be and told me to stop taking and prescribed a new one. So now we'll see.
He was very through about my exam he went over all my test results I was very impressed with him and pleased to have him as my doctor.
Dr Assar is amazing! Best doctor I’ve ever had. He is extremely thorough and actually takes the time to explain everything including the how and why. He uses his curiosity to dig deep and checks on all options. He listens and shows empathy. Plus, he has a great personality. Oh, and he plays Pickleball! Thanks for being here.
In our only meeting Dr. Assar referred to me as a returning patient however this was our initial meeting, he referred to a female patient's chart during my visit (I am a male) , did not follow- up to schedule a review of my heart exam, his office scheduled me for a heart procedure without the Dr. meeting with me, having any discussion of why it was necessary, or what the options were. His office staff was inept; office telephone voicemail box was full, nurse kept me waiting for 45 minutes and I finally left.
Dr. Assar was my doctor in phoenix, I am sorry to see he is gone to Prescott. He is an excellent .

Dr Assar treated my husband who had multiple system failure as a result of bacterial meningitis from a dental procedure. The infection involved endocarditis that destroyed his atrial valve. Dr Assar was candid and thorough in his explanation and immediately called in a cardiac surgeon to consult. We credit Dr Assar with being part of a team of doctors whom saved my husband’s life. During our follow ups we have not found lengthy waiting time as others have described. Perhaps he’s saving a life.
