I was having severe pain in my upper back and my neck. Dr. Gaufin was very thorough by ordering x-rays, CT scans, and a MRI. Recently had surgery, and my pain is mostly gone, as I am still recovering from the surgery. Explains things in my terms, shows you the images, and lets you ask any question about your surgery, so you understand everything. He is excellent.
Had an unscheduled neck surgery by Dr. Gaufin after a really bad car accident. So glad he was on call when I was hit. Was able to get an artificial disc to replace the burst disc that I had. The outcome was amazing I was so numb over my body before the surgery. No more numbness and since it was a single level my mobility in my neck is about the same. Great time going just make sure you get the X-ray scheduled before you do the post op visit.
Had a great experience with Dr. Gaufin. We decided after the first visit that the best course of action was to see if we could strengthen my muscles around the herniated disc and see if that would lessen the pain. After about nine months the pain started to get to a point where I couldn't live with it. So I had them schedule me for surgery the recovery was very easy and the scare is hardly noticeable. Dr. Gaufin was so thorough and judicious in his approach to my treatment for severe back pain and lumbar radiculopthy in both legs. He helped me understand my condition and make informed decisions about my best surgical and non-surgical options. It took me a few years to make the decision to have surgery, and he helped me recognize when that was what I needed. I had a lumbar fusion at L4/5 and L5/S1. It was the right decision! Dr. Gaufin gave me my life back.
The absolute worst experience I have ever had. If I could, I would give negative stars. The girls up front don't do what they say and don't know what a phone is. They said that they would email the forms to my wife's email so we could have them done before we got to the doctors office. She never received them, so she called to get them to send the email to her again. She called them 3 times and they never answered so she left a voicemail and spelled out her email so they could get it right. We n
He would not accept me as a returning patient because of having Tricare as secondary insurance. Keep that in mind if you are retired military.
I found Dr. Gaufin to be very cautious and sensitive to my problem. He even asked me to talk to my husband and pray about it before I decided to go ahead with the surgery. He visited me in the hospital every day and when there was a problem, he took care of it right away. I also found his doctor's assistant to be very caring and helpful. I would not go to another doctor if I needed another back surgery. He is the best!!!!
