I would give negative stars if that were possible. My son was in a car accident with a head injury. Dr. Voulters walked into the ICU for a consult after a 20 second chat with his nurse and just learning his name and not looking at any chart and made me feel like I was crazy for thinking my son was making any progress even though he had no information on him at all. As a doctor, bedside manner and tact with family members does matter. Also, how can you give an opinion without even looking at his chart?

I have been seeing Dr. Voulters for a couple of years now due to my migraines. I went from having multiple a week to one or two a month. He has gone out of his way to take care of me. He tells it like it is and doesn't sugar coat anything, so don't expect a dr who is going to baby you. He will get the job done! He is who I refer to when someone needs a neurologist.

When for years other doctors dismissed my symptoms, condition as if they weren't real, Dr. Voulters listened and was engaged. He asked a lot of questions, took me seriously and was honest. Eventhough there isn't a cure for what I have he is actively keeping up with the latest credible medical data and treating my symptoms and also sending me to specialized therapist's so I can get back to quality of life I haven't had for 4 yrs.

This is a difficult review. We saw him twice and first experience wasn't very good. Unfortunately he had been in an automobile accident. Between 1st and 2nd appointment staff had a difficult time keeping up with my records. However, 2nd appointment went very well so mixed experience. 2nd appointment he was very informative and personal. Who knows. LOL

My mother had a followup appt. with Dr. Voulters and I was shocked at how he treated her. He was intimidating and gave her very short responses when she expressed her health issues. When she said she gets headaches, he told her to take an over the counter headache med. He basically told her to stop taking any medications that she felt were giving her side effects even though he was not the doctor that prescribed them to her. He said - “Let’s face it, you’re 86 yrs. old”. Such a rude statement! After my mom told me these thin... read more

Horrible demeanor. Felt like I was intruding on his precious time. Talked down to me, and I felt like I was having to defend myself against his questioning. Dont think Ive ever been to a doctor that I dislike more. Will never go back.

Communicates poorly. Doesn’t listen to patient. There were many issues I had with his arrogant demeanor. But I decided to leave his practice when he announced it was time to treat my “life-long migraines with injections”. I’ve never had migraines. I had been seeing Dr. Voulters for pain on the crown of my head that resulted from a sodden ceiling falling on my head. Much like a hatchet cleaving the bone. Also of concern, when I read the Clinical Notes of the visit it did NOT reflect the medical evaluation I received either by... read more

I visited him at the Gulfport, MS clinic. About my 3rd visit I decided I would not go back. On that visit he asked me a couple of questions, only looked up at me once because he was too busy playing on his cell phone. In fact I don't even think he was listening to my answers because he was so absorbed with his cell. There is a sign in the office for patients not use cell phones. I guess he thinks this doesn't apply to him. I'll find a new doctor. I will call and complain to the Gulfport Memorial. I doubt they will do anythin... read more
