Someone said he cares more about the money than the care he provides. I find that absurd. I had I heart attack and crashed on the 405 in rush hour. got back to Ventura County Hospital. He came from his office to see me with no insurance, no job or money just SSDI. They told me at the Hospital i need a three way bypass, and they had to find someone to do it, they said If I left with out treatment I would die. This is the man that came. Had a really bad experience with this dr. He was more concerned with money than anything. Wasnt flexible to come in earlier than scheduled even for something urgent. Kept critical information from us.

Unfortunately, emotions and limited perspective may lead to a misunderstanding of events. The assertion that I "wasn't flexible to come in earlier than scheduled" and that the motivation for the care my patients receive is "money" are inaccurate. I do not ask or wish to know which patients have insurance/ability to pay- that does not influence the care my surgical patients receive. And all patients/family are entitled to review the complete medical record, good doctors welcome the request.
Dr. Bushnell is the best Cardio-thoracic Suirgeon I ever met. He is very caring and everytime he visited the pt. he gives encouragement to the pt. and fam. which is very vital to the whole situation. His total management is wholestic not just one area, that's why the pt. has a very high percentage of surviva. I had an experience to LOS ROBLES HOSPITAL which was very horrible!, WHICH I REGRET. More power to you Dr. Lamar Bushnell, we will not forget the cares you gave to our loved one. God Bless
He is a good heart surgeon. I appreciated how he did in my bypass coronary surgery. He was so caring, by the way he gives his instructions to me before and after the surgery. He was so kind and knew how to handle his patient's mood. I felt secured and safe without any worries with the surgery because he took care of all my needs before the surgery, like prescribing the the vitamins which i needed before surgery. He was approachable. He was a great surgeon. I will recommend him to others too.
