He was horrible, the worst doctor I ever had. I saw him for seizures, like someone else commented, he wasn't interested in finding the reasons for the seizures, only interested in finding a drug. He had me on two drugs, they interacted with eachother, bottom line, I was admitted to the hospital for a week, almost lost my eyesight, all because he overdosed me. He really did. Do not go to him ever.
I have had migraines forever and Dr.Bakker is the only one who was able to get me feeling better. I have been seeing him now for five years or so, he is the best at what he does. He and his staff go out of their way to make sure you have the medicine you need, even when insurance companies fight you about the medicine you are receiving. The staff and Dr.Bakker go out of their eway to make sure you are taken care of every step of the way. Thanks for being the best at your profession.
I see a lot of physicians on a regular basis. I've just read other comments and can't disagree more. I find Dr. Bakker very patient and thorough. He is efficient with his time which some may perceive as "rushed" but I have found that he always takes the time I need. In the final analysis, he is helping me--tremendously--and that's what I'm there for.
This was the worst experience I ever had with a doctor. He was arrogant and utterly unsympathetic. He said, "We can babysit you" but it won't make much difference. I left feeling devastated and demeaned. In subsequent appointments I requested his partner; office staff tried to switch me back to Bakker. When I resisted, it became apparent that this is a pattern. I have always had positive and productive relationships with physicians, but this one was simply awful. I urge seeking an alternative to this physician.
Only Dr to tell me that my restless leg synd could be side effect of medication prescr'd for >1yr by another Dr; listened to all symptoms and pointed out connections noone ever told me (RLS & Sleep apnea & migraines & weight gain & depression & high blood pressure, etc); best medical appointment I've ever made
This Doctor in inaccessable. For sleep treatment I would definitely go somwhere else. He has not been helpful at all or accessable. His staff is friendly but not all are well trained and the program is not set up to be able to effectively solve sleep disorders....bottom line find someone else
I have been going to Dr Bakker for about 3 years now. When all doctors gave up on my migrains he kept going. He has been through a lot with me. Unfortunatly it takes about 3 months to get in. His office staff is very friendly and nice. Sometimes he seems rushed and just checks you over real quick, but if you are having a problem he stops and takes time.
Visited related to long term sleep problems. I wanted to look at the sleep study and CPAP data and figure out why things weren't getting better. He didn't really seem to want to figure out what was going on. Only wanted to try drugs. Though they did make me a little more "wakeful" it wasn't enough and didn't really address the underlying problem. Though he seemed friendly enough, I'm finding another sleep doctor.
