We had our son 01/08 and completely forgot to find a Pediatrician. A Dr. friend of mine told me about Kirsten Mekelburg and we couldn't be happier. The ENTIRE staff is amazing.
Dr. Mekelburg rocks! She is very intelligent and knows her stuff. We 1st met her at Northside after delivery, as I had planned on using someone close to home. Needless to say she won us over and I drive 1hr one way to see her and I would not have it any other way. I know I have called the office a gazillion times for stupid things (as a 1st time mom) and they always make me feel welcome..Baby Judah just loves her:)
We are so happy we found her! Dr. Mekelburg patiently and comprehensively answers all of our questions and genuinely cares about our son. After working with and recommending pediatricians for over 10 years, I can say she is one of the finest in Atlanta. If you want the best pediatric care for your son or daughter, go see Dr. Mekelburg.
Dr. Mekelburg took care of our daughter from birth to age 3 1/2. She moved offices and her new office is too far for us to drive. She was very friendly and made us all feel comfortable. I had a very difficult time nursing and would have quit, but she knew it was important to me and set me up with the lactation office and kept me going. I never thought my daughter would like going to the doctor's office. She looks forward to every visit, even the shots! It is Dr. Mekelburg's calming demeanor and the staff's friendly personalities that keep my daughter wanting more. The office is extremely clean and they are always quick to respond. We switched to Dr. Mekelburg when our daughter was one and think it was one of the best moves we could have made for her.
Dr. Mekelberg has been an outstanding pediatrician for our daughters. We switched to her practice about a year ago and we couldn't be happier with our decision. Like every parent, nothing is more important to me than the health of my child. I interviewed six pediatricians to ensure that my son's doctor understood and respected my concerns, while at the same time kept up with new developments in pediatric research. My son has had some type of stool infenction for over a week now. I dropped off stool sample a week ago to be sent to the lab for testing. The office personnel lost it b/c the lab never got it. I have called 3 days in a row to find out what were the test results and the nurses kept telling me they'd call me back but never did. Finally, I asked if they stool was ever sent for testing and I find out that the stool was not sent it. What mismanagement! We could not have made it through the first year with our son without Dr. Mekelburg. She is so patient and kind and extremely knowlegdable. I highly recommend her.
