I took my daughter in for an urgent appointment because of a concern with her left eye. After a quick assessment, Dr. Morris and Dr. Godfrey referred me over to another specialist because the issue was beyond their scope. I even received a follow up call and email after hours from the both of them making sure my kiddo would be taken care of. Kudos to the Front Range (Greenwood Village) location. also big thanks to the front desk and associates!
I (woman, 30) was seen at Dr. Godfrey's office for years, but I usually had appointments with the older Dr. McQuaid. The last couple of times I was seen by Dr. Godfrey, and he always made me feel uncomfortable. I know helping a woman into a coat seems harmless, but after asking who I kissed at midnight on New Year's Eve and asking if I was going to see the guy again (my boyfriend), the extra touching/familiarity seemed skeevy. I will be going elsewhere for eye exams.
This was a 2nd opinion on increasing grey and black spots in the right eye. The 1st opinion from Robert McQuaid OD of the same office was simply debris collecting on the cataract replacement lens, easily cleared by a cataract surgeon with simple laser treatment. Earliest cataract surgeon appointment was 6 weeks in the future. Godfrey agreed with McQuaid. Cataract surgeon said it was detached retina. Retina surgeon failed in first attempt. 2nd retina surgery now appears to be failing.
When I called, the office staff was so friendly and concerned- I had hit my eye with my curling iron. They were able to work with my schedule and see me right away. Dr Godfrey was very professional and I, without a doubt, recommend him.
Dr. Godfrey is fantastic. There is a reason why I choose to make sure my appointments are with him. I'm shaking my head at the "woman in her 20's" who got creeped out. lol. Dr. Godfrey is extremely personable & gets to know me and my life outside of his office. I've never been creeped out by him at all, & love his corny jokes about being able "to see my husband better". I totally trust him with my eyesight! He is "up" on the newest contact technologies, which is appreciated by me and my eyes.
As an optometrist, Kent Godfrey is fine and did his job. However, I was thoroughly creeped out just sitting in his chair. I am a woman in my 20s, and was very uncomfortable with the personal questions he was asking me. Especially in regards to the detail he went into regarding my relationship status. He was completely inappropriate, and in retrospect, I should have left during the exam. Needless to say, I would not recommend him. Especially to any women wanting to be treated with respect.

I am sorry you feel this way, but I get to know my patients and all aspects of their life, including relationship because it is a big part of life. I ask everyone from 12-90, male or female, about their relationships and other aspects of their life. One reason why our patients return is the personal connection they have. We had a patient introduce her fiance to us because of her experience. If you want a "just the facts" exam, there are other doctors that work here that patients connect with.
Dr. Godfrey was very attentive to my concerns and questions and make practical suggestions for my needs.
