I had a colonoscopy at Corewell Health, and I arrived promptly for my 9:30 a.m. appointment. She did not listen to me. She brushed aside all my concerns and said things that did not even apply to what I was asking. I felt uncomfortable with her and will not make an appointment for a colonoscopy with her. She seemed snobby and distant.
She is great! Really listens to your concerns and spends the time to discuss them with you and treat them appropriately.

Hello, I've been seeing Dr. Sumnicht for a few years now. She has been very helpful in addressing my gastrointestinal issues. We have altered my medications here and there and I finally feel like I'm headed in a more positive direction. She explains things to me kindly and professionally. I would refer anyone who has gastrointestinal issues to her. Thank you Dr. Sumnicht!

I've had a very pleasant experience with Dr. Sumnicht. She is kind, caring, and detailed, and I'm glad to be working with her on my digestive issues.
Trouble communicating health problem priorities. Results of colonoscopy were incorrectly recorded. I saw pictures of polyps and nurse tells you what is what, and then the doctor denies to me in follow-up how many polyps, what type. Suddenly the story is different. Never received photos. She either did not chart in a timely way or mixed me up with someone else's results. I have many digestive issues; only recommendation was "eat more fiber." If that were the cure, I would be well. No trust!
I saw her recently because I have specific dietary issues and fibromyalgia symdorme which is affected by what I eat. For the last year I have been doing food alternations and have continued digestive issues with self treatment. I explained this all to her, did not seem to care much at all when I was talking, and gave me the SAME advice I had either tried or am using, and when I told her this, she basically said "you're not the doctor" even though I already did what she said. No testing, no help.
