Thokey is not very thorough in her professional evaluations. Bad expensive decisions on planned dental work that didn't solve problems. My dental health did not improve under her direction but when I changed dentists they incorporated a well thought out comprehensive plan (extractions, crown replacements, dental fillings and restorative resins. My dental health is now the best it's been for many years. Now my teeth look and feel great
To be fair, my husband was taken on an emergency basis the same day and an x-ray was done. Staff cordial. Crown recemented. BUT...when we received the bill in the mail it was $240!!! Our insurance paid $35, and we were stuck for $205 out of pocket. We were not given an estimate beforehand - shame on us! I asked for a reduction given the nature of the work done, but they did not cooperate. Lesson learned. Get an estimate first. I guess the high prices allow them to work fewer hours.
She works very fast but doesn't explain as she goes. She is a good local dentist for general dentistry but doesn't seem to have convenient office hours. Sometimes her decision making is confusing.
I highly recommend Dr. Thokey and her staff. I am happy with all the work and procedures done for me over the years. She and her staff are caring and take the time to fulfill your questions and needs.

i have been to see the Dr. a few times and am always pleased with the service I receive. Pros: Does procedures other dentist refer away, friendly staff, up-to-date services, fair prices, and convenient location.. Cons: Strange hours and days limited, long wait period in office, small rooms, and not easy to enter building for wheel chair or special needs individuals.

Thank you for your review. We do have a very nice wheelchair ramp which has been there several years. Any patient is welcome to use it.
Decent practice. Been going there since her predecessor occupied the building. The technicians are friendly and efficient. Only real beef is that I find her hours for a public service rather poor. Four days a week and not a single Saturday offered during the month is inconvenient and illogical. Your only choice shouldn't have to be to miss work just to see a dentist. Flip a Monday with a Saturday once a month and problem solved..

Thank you for your review. We have offered Saturdays in the past. Unfortunately they are the most common missed or no showed appointments. We do offer a 4:00 and a 5:00 spot. May revisit Saturdays in the future
I needed a filling done, and was very disappointed in the process. First off they used amalgam, which apparently has mercury, but neglected to tell me this or anything at all. Secondly, anesthetic does not work well on me, so I could feel the drill in my tooth, not helped by her rushing as much as possible. I could not tell her this because when I signaled her she did not fully back off. Third, no one gave me any info on aftercare until I asked them, and then the secretaries weren't sure.

We do place composite (white) dental fillings. We do also in some instances place amalgam restorations when the restoration is too big for a composite or the patient cannot afford a crown. The FDA and ADA have made statements regarding dental amalgam restorations. They do not leech mercury and can be a strong affordable choice for some people.
