SHE IS AN EXTREMELY NEGLIGENT DOCTOR. DO NOT USE. SEE POST below about disciplinary action in 2010. Her patient took their own life. Please spread the word. She should not be practicing psychiatry! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
I saw Dr. Hastik for more than two years. She made some huge mistakes with my treatment. Her counseling skills were just fine, she was compassionate and certainly cared about me as a patient. However, she dramatically over-prescribed sleep and anti-anxiety medication, which impacted my work performance and contributed to a deep exhaustion. This doctor is more concerned about her billable rate than caring for her patients. She's a talking advertisement for industry and she has a record with the medical board. I found this a female therapist recommended her. Why she wasn't transparent about that is in my opinion, flat out unethical.
Was recently recommended to Dr. Hastik through UCSF and the person there knew her from her residency training. So far, I think this doctor is one of the best of have ever seen -- and she is exceptionally personable and saw me very late in the day to accommodate my schedule. Thank you.
I have posted on another site as SFSKIER and just think Dr. H is a really compassionate, caring physician. My last psychiatrist was not a good fit. She also has a great reputation in the therapy and medical community as someone who is very knowledgeable about drug treatments. She's also very responsive. (My last psychiatrist would sometimes take as long as a week to get back to me regrading general questions, changing appointments.)
