I’ve only seen Dr. Voelker a few times but she’s amazing and I feel really comfortable with her as my psychiatrist. She listens closely and consult with me instead of just throwing pills at the situation. She recognizes the racial disparities in healthcare, things like doctors who may over prescribe or under prescribe certain medications to African Americans. I was a patient during 2021 and had to do appointments over the phone. I missed 1 phone call but proceeded to call back not even a minute later and my call was denied. I was then notified that because of my one missed call, I was no longer open to their services and had to start over as a new patient and be reevaluated. One of her team therapists (Erika) was the most worthless person I've ever talked to.
