This doctor put my on cymbalta in 2021 and I have been on it since. He neglected to inform me about the terrible and awful nature of getting off this drug, people liken it worse to hard drugs or alcohol. IF I KNEW ABOUT THIS I WOULDNT HAVE GONE ON IT! HORRIBLE!!! This “Doctor” would prescribe my mother with WAYYYY too much medication. My mother had surgery not too long ago and her surgeon was VERY concerned on how much of certain medications she was on to the point where the pharmacy is refusing to refill them. He has horrible bedside manners and gives you attitude, his receptionist is NEVER there and “works from home” she is super late as responding to emails or calls sometimes she never gets back to you. As many have said here, Dr Covey is quirky and he is certainly an acquired taste. I have never before met a doctor that carried a toothbrush (among so many other things) in his front shirt pocket. Nevertheless, I have been a loyal patient of his for 6 years because is a competent physician and a true expert on psychiatric medications. I saw this dr in 2014ish2015 and I got hooked onto benzodiazepines with 3x a day with 2mg at a time along with Valium up to I think it was 10x a day if needed 10mg. Pill mill taken me years to get my life back
I'm happily switching away from this office. They have only done telehealth since Covid (it's now 2023) and working with Dr. Covey has become a bad experience. What should be a 5 minute appt takes 50 minutes because of unnecessary and awkward conversation that is completely unrelated to the appointment. There is poor communication about appoiment scheduling. I've felt that some medications have been prescribed recklessly. The list goes on and on.
