Only psychiatrist who’s ever listened to me and worked WITH me and not on me if that makes sense. I’ve gone to him for years and found him to be knowledgeable and approachable with different issues. He takes the time to figure out the best approach. Usually psychiatrists meet you for a half hour then check in for ten minutes every three months. Not sure if he is still alive and practicing, but its been 10 years since I saw this man, and it still sticks with me as one of the worst medical experiences I've ever had.
I have been a patient of Dr. Covey’s for over nine years, and I cannot recommend him highly enough! After years of struggling with a misdiagnosis (and multiple doctors who were of no help), he took the time to truly listen, evaluate my history thoroughly, and ultimately arrive at the correct diagnosis. If you have an elderly parent, please read this. My mother, who is 77 years old, has now suffered two broken femurs while under the care of this clinic—both believed to be caused by medication-related impairment from prescriptions they continued to write without caution or verification. If I could give negative stars I would. Dr. Covey put me on 600 mg of Lamictal, which is WAY beyond a normal dose. This dose put me in a drug induced psychosis which lasted months and almost ruined my life. You also can’t quit that medicine cold turkey or you could have a seizure and die, so it took a long time to get back to normal. He actually laughed in my face when I asked him to get me off of this med, which I have recorded and my husband witnessed. Do not trust this man.
