First off I want to make this very clear that I am not a patient at this office. I am simply advocating for my patient as a caregiver. My patient had an appointment with Dr Poling this week. Past appointments with Dr Poling have made my patient anxious to come here so much so that he sees Dr Holly instead (she is the ultimate sweetest). Our daughter has been going to Dr Poling for over 20 years. You will not find a more caring and qualified neurologist. His nurse Gina is the best! They have always shown professional care and compassion as well as expert wisdom for complicated conditions.

THEY CANCELLED my appointment as a new patient LAST MINUTE which I scheduled over a month and a half ago. To add insult to injury, I learned this when I called them to confirm my appointment before I drove over this morning. They didn’t even have the courtesy to call me upon opening their office. Moreover, they said I cannot reschedule with Dr. Poling because he doesn’t see patients without a certain diagnosis. They say someone new made a mistake!!! I have been going to this clinic for 5 years. Tried to schedule an appointment for a physical in August. They said I already had an appointment scheduled for January 17th, and that they could not see me twice in one year and to check with my insurance. I did, and called back in early December as we travel extensively. They again said I had an appointment scheduled for Jan 17th, and that they had nothing between Dec 5th and Jan. 17th. Dr. Poling is amazing. Our family has a genetic condition (mitochondrial myopathy), and he is very knowledgeable and thorough. When our son lost his battle with this disease at age 28, he was very empathetic and sent a personalized sympathy card. I have been a patient at Athens Neurological Associates for 20+ years and feel we are in great hands.
