I have been seeing Dr. Straetmans for years. I feel so strongly about his care and competency I pay out of pocket to see him. He spends time with you and genuinely cares how you are doing. He also respects the patient and is very willing to answer questions. I never have a problem with wait times or making appointments. His wife Mary, who helps in the office, is also very compassionate. I am in a helping profession and have high standards and recommend him highly.
Consider yourself lucky to work with Dr. Straetmans. I hate the couch doctors who keep you 60 minutes for billing purposes. This doctor helps you zero in on your next steps and away you go. For me it is evaluating the efficacy of my meds. He also wants to know how you are doing personally and we often chat about travel, good books and family. He doesn't make me feel like he's mindbending me as we talk. He and his wife Mary are strong Christians and care about patients with out putting them through the 20 questions rigamarole... read more
I have been with Dr. Straetman for several years. He has been the most helpful doctor I’ve seen. He listens, he encourages and is very knowledgeable and professional. I don’t easily trust doctors, I trust him completely. Mary is so kind and helpful. I highly recommend Dr. Straetman.
Dr. Straetman helped me so much a few years back. If I didn't live so far, I would gladly have him as my doctor again.

I would never set foot in his office again. I was in a difficult Greif situation and in 20 minutes I was diagnosed as bipolar, provided a prescription and sent on my way - no explanation or anything all for $250! I never took one pill and am fine. My son was sent there too by his IOP. Again perscibed medication that caused more problems than helped. Think about your life and whose hands you choose to put it in... someone who truly cares or just writes scripts.
He didn’t look away from his computer at all. He made all of these assumptions instead of doing his job. My husband was there for help. He received none. Just a bill. Don’t let Mary’s kindness confuse you, John Straetman is not helpful.
