I have been seeing Dr. Oppenheimer for seven years. He is an incredible pulmonologist. Very in-depth knowledge, great at thinking across disciplines and identifying connections, patient, explains things extremely well. I recommend him completely.

Spoke over me, ignored my symptom list and dismissed it as "lots of people have things things," told me I don't have allergies, but should take up to 3 antihistamines a day, and vastly outdated knowledge of the condion I was there for.
I left the office feeling panicked and not having any questions answered. I paid a $40 co pay to meet with him for 2 minutes. Disappointing considering the apt was for my 7 yo son.
If I could I would give a - 10 .. He is terrible. He spends more time talking about himself, his life and his retirement plans than he does listening to his patients. On top of the fact that the people in his office are incompetent. I specifically requested a skin test on all 3 calls I made to the office, to find out that they don't do skin test, better yet when requested and I had to bring fresh fruits and veggies to get testes. I've been seeing him since childhood, and will continue to do so even though I don't primarily live in the area anymore! Very focused, very knowledgeable, and always willing to explain further. He can move through things very quickly but never has an issue with asking for clarification or me tacking on one more thing I want to make sure to discuss. Dr. Oppenheimer shows considerable interest in my condition and always takes the time to listen to me during appointments. He explains clearly what the medical condition is and potential remedies. He makes sure to coordinate with other pertinent physicians.
Not good, so full of himself. He claims he has OCD but does this cause zero consideration of patients emotions? I think not. Go find anybody else for your allergies. Long wait in the office, longer winded speech of his wisdom. Not evidence based.
Unfortunate that I accidentally missed a scheduled appointment and doctor will now not reschedule. It's a shame, as I appreciated his value but apparently he doesn't appreciate any mistakes. I have recommended many people to his office over the past 10 years and will not longer do so.
My advice is to not schedule an appointment. I have never been treated so rudely! I made an appt a few weeks ago and was waiting for my other allergist to send the information to Dr. Oppenheimer. The information did not arrive in time and the day before my appointment, a full 24 hours in advance, I cancelled. When I tried to reschedule I was blocked! The reason? Simply because I did not cancel 48 hours in advance. What?! Horrible. Luckily there are many other wonderful allergists.
