Is Dr. Abess still practicing?
Wonderful doctor. Can't imagine where I'd be without his help.
Dr. Abess has been treating my brother since the late '70's. I don't know where my brother would be today without Dr. Abess and a loving family. He and Ann are the best!
After fighting depression, mood swings and panic attacks I was sent to Dr Abess. After seeing him since May I have made wonderful progress. My husband told me I could get rid of all of my doctors except Dr Abess. It is very pleasant going to his office. He and Ann are very wonderful caring people!
I am a patient of Dr. Abess. He is genuine and very compassionate. I was very shy before meeting him and lacked confidence in myself. As time went by, I became more and more comfortable talking to him. Dr. Abess and his wife, nurse Ann, always treated me with a smile, and with the utmost respect...not to mention how nice they both are. I am so happy with the life I have now, and I owe it all to Dr. Abess. I am so grateful having him as my Psychiatrist. He's the best!!! I rate him a 5+.
Dr. Abess and his wife run an efficient, safe and private environment that brings a down home charm. I saw Dr Abess after a serious problem. He not only properly diagnosed me, but found a proper route of medication. I am indebted to him. If you are simply drug shopping, he is not that kind of doctor. It takes time and patience.
DR. Abess has been extreme;y helpful in my diagnosis and has provided the proper and effective treatment protocol. Art Schmitt PHD
If you care to stay well, stay away from Dr. John Abess. Unless you would like to be medicated to the point of becoming a total zombie, then by all means he's your md.
He never heard of “protracted benzodiazepine withdrawal,” and asked me to define the term “poly-drugging.” That boggles my mind for a psychiatrist with decades experience. The clock was ticking, so I felt pressured to explain everything in its proper context. Then he accused me of “pressured speech,” and instantly associated it. with bipolar disorder. Apparently he had a schedule to keep, but that doesn’t change the fact he rushed to clinical judgement based on a nervous, situational response.
