I had a terrible smell in my nose for months. Dr. Ponder told me it was nothing and gave me a saline bottle to wash my nose. 30 days later I went to another ENT in Flower Mound and he immediately knew I had a real problem. CAT Scan revealed the need for a root canal to fix an infected tooth that had burst into the sinus cavity. Misdiagnosed, the infection was almost a giant problem.
My family has a history of ototoxicity reaction to medicine such as antibiotics and dextromethorphan. My mother is hearing impaired because of it and wears hearing aids, since the age of 30. It's not funny. When I went in with an ototoxic reaction to a medicine, which I know well and have experienced before, Dr. Ponder laughed it off as "maybe a virus that will go away." The correct treatment in the medical literature is prednisone within 2 weeks of the damage. My symptoms have never gone away.
This is my 4th visit, I always have a scheduled appt. the wait is horrible. I haven’t had a good experience at this office. I come early thinking I will be seen ontime, what a joke
This guy basically told me to just get over it, referring to the ringing in my ears. He was completely unconcerned and offered zero clinical treatments. A complete waste of my time and money. He is a scam artist and should be avoided at all cost!
He didn't believe I had anything wrong because I passed a hearing test. Rushed me out the door without giving me the chance to ask questions.
I had a bizarre experience. On my initial visit, Dr. Ponder said I had a huge bone spur and clearly visible deviated septum and that I needed surgery to repair it. He sent me for a CT. After the CT I got a call from the nurse who said it was clear and no surgery was needed. I was very confused and said that is the opposite of what was said in my appointment. I asked for the doctor to call me, but I never got a clear answer. Honestly, I think they mixed up my CT with someone else.
Great surgeon!!. He performed a cholesteatoma removal and a mastoidectomy in my left ear, very delicate kind of surgery that needed great hands and knowledge. I am doing fantastic after 2 years of my surgery. Dr Ponder is a calm and quite doctor, and very knowledgeable. After my surgery, my ear took time to heal, and I had to go to the office a lot to check it and do some cleaning, during that time Dr Ponder was always kind and took good care about me. I am really happy.
QUACK OF THE YEAR AWARD GOES TO DR. PONDER AND HIS RUDE STAFF. DIRTY TOOLS USED TO LOOK UP MY NOSE AND DOWN MY THROAT. REPORTED TO THE BOARD OF MEDICAL DIRECTORS FOR THE FOUL LANGUAGE HE USED AND HIS ABUSIVE ATTITUDE TOWARDS ME. PONDER IS POISON. STAY AWAY, RUN IF YOU CAN.
Waited a long time, no apology, spend about five minutes with him. What experience?
