I became Dr Bermans patient when I was in The Emergency Room at Moore Regional Hospital. I had lost all circulation in my left leg , and I needed to go to the Operating Room.. Initally he wanted to amputate and I would not agree to it. He respected my wishes . The Reid Heart Center had just opened and it was evening so nobody was having surgery .
